As part of a trend, this Movember a 2 mile dash, happening before the Saints game against the Buccaneers in conjunction with Tailgate for a cause is happening. Tickets to partake are $30 for the dash, t-shirt, and tailgating, or $20 just to tailgate. "The annual NOLA Stache Dash is a 3K fun run and tailgate, to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer at the nation's only Musicians' Clinic," says the program's website. In addition to the general goodwill every 100 dollars will fund one prostate cancer screening for a local musician.

Speaking about the founder of the Event, Kieth de la Gardelle, publisher Shane Finkelstein said, "He came to me and said, 'I just got over cancer and wanted to do a big event for men's cancer awareness. And he had the idea to do a stache dash," which was the genesis of the event.

Runners in the event will receive a Stache Dash t-shirt and participation medals. If you're not feeling up for a dash, there's always the tailgate. The party will be host to Dixie Beer, Bloody Marys and, of course, food. The venue, Central City BBQ, has 30,000 square feet of outdoor space as well as fifteen foot indoor televisions to enjoy the game whoever you are rooting for. (The Saints are the team you're rooting for, of course.)

According to Finkelstein the event raised 7500 last year and hopes to double that number this year. The New Orleans Musicians' Clinic is the main beneficiary of the event and has provided for artists in New Orleans since its establishment in 1998. With the mantra "READY, SET, GREAUX!" this festival is sure to be a highlight of your November especially if you feel inclined to participate in the beard competition or just want to help out a good cause. This November is a good time to improve yourself and make a positive contribution. The tickets for the events are available here.
