The 2025 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, sponsored by Shell, will take place at the Fair Grounds Race Course from Thursday, April 24 to Sunday, May 4. While the official lineup announcement is still pending, anticipation is building for what promises to be another spectacular celebration of music and culture.

The festival traditionally features an outstanding mix of genres including jazz, blues, rock, gospel, folk, and more, showcasing both local talent and international stars. All of the below acts will be on tour in 2025 and have gaps in there schedules between April 24 and May 4, so there is a real possibility that any or all of these might make an appearance at Jazz Fest this year.

Music enthusiasts can stay informed about lineup announcements and ticket sales by visiting the festival's official website at nojazzfest.com.

Five Musicians That Might Be Playing Jazz Fest 2025

1. Mt. Joy

Philadelphia-based indie rock band Mt. Joy might be making an appearance at Jazz Fest 2025. Known for their folk-rock sound and hits like "Silver Lining" and "Astrovan," the band has been steadily rising since their formation in 2016. Having performed at major festivals like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, Mt. Joy would be a perfect fit for Jazz Fest's diverse lineup. Fans would love to hear tracks from their latest album Orange Blood, along with their earlier hits.

2. Judah & The Lion

Known for their unique blend of folk, rock, and banjo-driven sound with hits like "Take It All Back" and "Spirit," Nashville-based folk rock band Judah & the Lion has been making waves since their formation in 2011. Having performed at major festivals across the country and earning acclaim for their genre-bending style, Judah & the Lion would be a perfect fit for Jazz Fest. The crowds at the fest would be ecstatic to hear tracks from their latest releases, along with favorites from their breakthrough album Folk Hop n' Roll.

3. Maroon 5

Pop rock giants Maroon 5 could maybe make an appearance at Jazz Fest this year. Known for their chart-topping hits like "Moves Like Jagger," "Sugar," "Girls Like You," and so much more, the band has been a dominant force in popular music since their formation in 1994. Having headlined major festivals worldwide and sold over 135 million records, Maroon 5 would be a stellar addition to Jazz Fest's lineup this year. If they were to appear, this would be a can't miss performance for both die-hard fans and casual listeners.

4. Green Day

Punk rock legends Green Day could bring their high-energy and innovative sound to Jazz Fest 2025. With several tour dates already announced for 2025, there's speculation about their potential first-ever Jazz Fest appearance. Known for hits like "American Idiot," "Basket Case," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and more, Green Day's 75-million record-selling catalog and genre-defining sound would make them an exciting addition to the festival. If they perform, fans can expect classics from their long career, including Dookie and American Idiot.

5. Weezer

Iconic alt-rock band Weezer has never performed at Jazz Fest before and that's something that could definitely change if the stars end up aligning. They've already announced several tour dates for 2025, so there's a chance they could bring their distinctive power-pop sound to New Orleans. Having sold over 35 million records worldwide and consistently reinvented themselves across multiple decades, Weezer would be able to draw a very large crowd if they made their Jazz Fest debut this year. With my classic tracks, including "Undone - The Sweater Song," "Buddy Holly," "Beverly Hills," and more, Weezer would put on an unforgettable Jazz Fest experience.
