The Pontchartrain Yacht Club is partnering with the city of Mandeville's Winter on the Water team to host a legendary Christmas celebration on December 3 starting at 5:30 p.m. Pontchartrain Yacht Club members are invited to decorate their boats in the most festive and creative ways possible, including but not limited to extravagant light decorations and much more.

Participants will then have the opportunity to sail their boats along the entirety of the Lakeshore, from the Harbor all the way to the Fountains. Judges will be placed along the route to choose the top 3 most dedicated and creative contestants. Winners of the Winter on the Water event will be rewarded with West Marine gift cards, with prices ranging from $75-$150.

Anyone wishing to participate in this fun and festive Northshore event is encouraged to RSVP on the Pontchartrain Yacht Club website.

A Beautiful and Historic Venue

The Pontchartrain Yacht Club is a staple of social life and activities in the Northshore area. Founded in 1967 in the historic Lakeshore district of Mandeville, the yacht club has since grown and established itself as a member of both the Gulf Yachting Association and the United States Sailing Association.

They are known for hosting several social events, such as traditional Louisiana crawfish boils, Bar Mitzvahs, New Year's Eve bonfires, and more. The venue includes a children's playground, swimming pool, and an unobstructed view of the beautiful Lake Pontchartrain. Anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of New Orleans city life for a while has to experience the serenity of the Pontchartrain Yacht Club.
