On Friday, Nov. 11 from 2-10 p.m, New Orleans local Mardi Gras Hoop Krewe, Nola Night Lights, is hosting a benefit full of music, art, dancing, and much more. The event will take place at the Drifter Hotel on 3522 Tulane Avenue, and will feature DJs such as Sunyata, Wake n Blake, Oura, and so many other talented guests. Nola Night Lights is also providing those who visit the Hoop for Harm Reduction Benefit the opportunity to view their spectacular fire and LED showcase. In addition to these endlessly fun activities, the event will also include an art raffle and a site to donate excess clothing to Covenant House, an important organization that works to provide shelter for the unhoused youth of New Orleans.

A Fun Night for a Good Cause

Nola Night Lights' Hoop for Harm Reduction Benefit was created in order to provide funding and resources to harm reduction efforts across the city of New Orleans. Harm reduction is a public health philosophy that provides a safer and more realistic alternative to abstinence only attitudes towards drug use, sexual health, alcohol use, and more. Harm reduction resources available at this event will include visitors from the New Orleans Musicians Clinic and other organizations.

Presale tickets for the benefit are $10 or $15 at the door, but visitors have the chance to save $5 by simply bringing a minimum of 2 canned goods with them at the time of purchase. A portion of all ticket proceeds will be donated to local harm reduction groups throughout the city, so come visit the Drifter Hotel on Nov. 11 for the chance to enjoy a fun night of music and activities while also supporting a worthwhile cause.
