New Orleans Opera
The New Orleans Opera Association's Distinguished Artists Series and Holiday Concert tickets are now available for purchase for their 2026-2027 season.
Striving to entertain, inspire, and educate New Orleans and Louisiana, the New Orleans Opera Association puts on opera productions and performances. The association believes in the use of opera to express visceral stories and expand the captivity of wonder. Beyond the stage, New Orleans Opera enriches the community in inclusive education, outreach, and partnerships that foster a gratitude for the arts. The association honors the 300 year legacy of presenting European and American premieres in the Crescent City to foster support for opera in the nation.

Distinguished Artists Concert: Sarah Jane McMahon and Kameron Lopreore
In October 2026, Sarah Jane McMahon and Kameron Lopreore will capture audiences with their performance that honors David Morelock, the beloved director of Loyola Opera Theatre from 1994 to 2009. A native of Memphis, TN, Morelock was a singer and French teacher in his early career and was known for loving the repertoire of French opera. This performance will be held on October 8 at 6 p.m. and October 10 at 2 p.m. at the Opera Guild Home.
McMahon is a New Orleans native who performs with the world's top opera companies and symphony orchestras. She is known for her appearances at the prestigious Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires as Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, Monica in The Medium, and Micaela in Carmen with New Orleans Opera and Opera Idaho, as well as concert performances with the Colorado Symphony, the Williamsburg Symphony, and Heartlands Festival Orchestra. She has performed with the Los Angeles Opera, Dallas Opera, Arizona Opera, Virginia Opera, the Washington Concert Opera, and Des Moines Opera. In addition to her performing career, she is now the Director of Sacred Music/Cantor at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.
Lopreore is a distinguished lyric tenor from New Orleans who is celebrated for his "powerful ringing top and baritone weight" in the opera world. He has performed in the Atlanta Opera, Charleston Theater, Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Opera, Pensacola Opera, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and more. He also portrayed the Woeful Tenor in AMC's Interview with the Vampire.

Holiday Concert: Christmas Classics with Knox Van Horn
In December 2027, Knox Van Horn will take the stage with a program of holiday classics. This performance will be held on December 5 at 2 p.m. and December 9 at 6 p.m. at the Opera Guild Home.
Van Horn is an American actor, singer, producer, and voice artist based in New Orleans. He has built a prominent career in local and regional theater, performing in major musical productions and audiobook narration. In early 2026, he was part of the ensemble for Le Petit Theatre's production of the classical musical Guys and Dolls. A New Orleans Center for Creative Arts alum, he also spent time training at the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts.

Distinguished Artists Concert: Amanda Majeski
In January 2027, celebrate the artistry and legacy of women composers through soprano Amanda Majeski's captivating recital of art songs. This performance will be held on January 14 at 6 p.m. and January 16 at 2 p.m. at the Opera Guild Home.
Majeski is an internationally renowned American soprano that is known for her voice of "silvery beauty." She has established herself as a celebrated interpreter of Mozart, Strauss, Wagner, and Handel. Majeski added a new dimension to her career with her breakthrough performance as the title role in Janáček's Káťa Kabanová at London's Royal Opera in 2019, which won Best New Opera Production at that year's Olivier Awards.

Distinguished Artists Concert: Blake Friedman
In May 2027, Blake Friedman will perform a compelling program of newly discovered classical vocal gems in honor of the rich musical legacy of famous and forgotten Jewish composers. This performance will be held on May 13 at 6 p.m. and May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Opera Guild Home.
Based in New York City, Friedman is an American tenor who has been heard on operatic, concert, and theatrical stages across the United States. He has performed at the Dallas Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Anchorage Opera, Chautauqua Opera, On Site Opera, LoftOpera, St. Pete Opera, and Ash Lawn Opera. Friedman's notable performances include his critically acclaimed portrayal of Irving Tashman in the New York City premiere of Morning Star by Ricky Ian Gordon with On Site Opera and as Iago in Rossini's Otello with LoftOpera.

Ticketing and Packages
General admission for all performances is $125 per person, with a $5 fee charge. The general admission ticket price includes food and beverages, and the purchase is non-refundable. Tickets can be purchased online.
The Distinguished Artists Series and Christmas Concert Package is $412.50 and can be purchased online.
