First Annual New Orleans Block Party Music Festival at the Broadside

On Saturday, June 8, experience the first annual New Orleans Block Party Music Festival at the Broadside for undeniable hype and communal gathering.

The Broadside is an outdoor venue, located at 600 North Broad St., in Mid City near the Lafitte Greenway. Guests can enjoy Cochon King's food truck and concessions at the bar.

The special, debut event kicks off at 1 p.m. and runs all day until 10 p.m. Doors open one hour early at noon. Tickets are $25, and kids under 18 are welcome to join the festivities. Tickets and more information can be found at broadsidenola.com.

Live Music Performances

There will be many live music performances during the New Orleans Block Party Music Festival.

Partners-N-Crime is a renowned hip-hop duo that is local to New Orleans and raised in the 17th ward. Kango Slimm and Mista Meana are pioneers of the New Orleans rap scene. They have been telling meaningful stories through their music since forming in 1993.

HotBoy Ronald, a rap and hip-hop artist raised in the Desire projects, is known for his wild and hot bounce beats. His name buzzes around the Southern region, so don't miss out.

Singer Bryson Bernard, also known as Cupid, has roots from his church choir in Lafayette, Louisiana. He broke a Guinness World Record and his music is featured in several films. His hit, "Cupid Shuffle," will have you bouncing and lovin'.

Ronnie Bell is from Walker, Louisiana and also began his musical journey in his church choir. He is known for his Southern soul music and bounce beats. He promises a captivating performance.

Toyna Boyd-Cannon has a rare contralto voice. She is Mississippi-born and Louisiana raised, mixing soul, R&B, and passion. She's ranked in the top on The Voice and directs "The New Orleans Citywide Youth Choir."

Big 6 Brass Band, second line master all-stars, will be treating the crowd with original and traditional New Orleans music. They represent the sound of New Orleans avenues and are the trailblazers of modern New Orleans brass. They consist of former and current members of the Rebirth, Stooges, Hot 8, TBC, and Da Truth brass bands.

Pets are welcome until 7 p.m. before the music starts, but service animals are always welcome. Parking is located at The Broadside lot, as well as street parking on Toulouse and Lafitte and the AutoZone lot during non-operating hours. Escorts to vehicles are happily offered by the officers on duty.

Seating will be available on first come basis and additional chairs are offered upon request from a staff member 60 minutes before the show.
