The Art Garage at 2231 St. Claude Ave. will soon be turned into a 5,000 square-foot facility that will offer not only live music, but also retro arcade games, shuffleboard, pinball, skee-ball, and much more. This comes after the New Orleans City Council approved a conditional use permit to allow the conversion, according to New Orleans City Business.
Emporium NOLA, which is part of a company that has three other arcade/music venues around the country, will be operating the new venue. There are no plans to significantly change the outside of the building and there will also be murals and art from local artists that will be featured in the space. Along with all of the games and entertainment, the inside will also feature an upgraded bar and revamped bathroom.
The venue is currently slated to open sometime in 2022.
