Calling all Tortured Poets and Literary Lovers

The Milton H. Latter Library will host their "Taylor Swift Book-ish Party" on Saturday, October 19 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. to celebrate Swift's visit to New Orleans!

A program designed for young Swifties—from the ages of 6 to 12, as well as their caregivers—the morning will include themed snacks, crafts, activities, and friendship bracelet making. For those who might be a little too young to attend the "Eras Tour" concert, this event is a great way to celebrate Swift's arrival to New Orleans and engage in kid-friendly activities!

Her trade-mark friendship bracelets are a fun craft that kids can take home with them, trade with friends, and feel as though they are official Taylor Swift fans. The event will be held in the library's dining room, front porch, and lawn, and guests are asked to pre-register here in order to help the library plan supplies.

About the Library

Originally a home, built and owned by merchant Marks Isaacs, the Latter Library on St. Charles Avenue was a family home for a long period of time. After a series of events, the home was sold to Harry and Anna Latter, who then donated it to the city of New Orleans after the death of their son during World War II. Although having made slight changes to the building, the library has preserved many of the iconic and antiquated aspects of the beautiful home.

The Milton H. Latter Library hosts a diverse array of events and is considered a cornerstone to the New Orleans community. The location hosts daily storytime for young children, classes regarding sewing, learning to use the computer, and language learning hours, as well as offers resources like reproductive health seminars, free Flu-Shots, and more. With activities for youth, programs for adults, and resources for those searching for a job, the Latter Library—and many other libraries throughout the Greater New Orleans area—is a fantastic, free resource that can offer help to anyone who asks!

So if you are looking to engage in some Taylor Swift festivities, then the library's "Taylor Swift Book-ish Party" is a great morning activity for young Swifties!
