As we all know, Mardi Gras is a big part of every year, and it is truly a bummer when it ends. But this is precisely why the party cannot and should not stop there. Please join The Maple Leaf's Krewe of Oak, The Funky Tucks and The Funky Uncle in the Mid Summer Mardi Gras parade that will be so fun you wish Mardi Gras season were here.
This summer jam will take place Friday, August 26, 2023, starting at 6:00 p.m. in Uptown NOLA. Perfect for a night out without the hassle of bars and clubs. The parade route can be found on their website.
These party and people-friendly krewes also ask for your role as a marcher in the parade for $25. Stickers will be provided to throw and music to rock out to; however, refreshments are up to you!
The Funky Uncle Live is a nonprofit organization all about helping musicians that were affected by COVID-19. They have employed artists and distributed grants equaling over $850,000, which has helped over 900 people. The business has been performing weekly live shows, and all donations and profits go toward gig workers and musicians.
They plan to keep evolving into a music museum, the Louisiana Music and Heritage Experience Inc.
This parade is for all the costume and theme lovers who need to get to the house to ease the wait for the real Mardi Gras season in late February or early March. Plus, the parade is open to all ages, so bring out the whole family for vitamin D and experience what it is like to celebrate New Orleans culture before it gets cool out.
The event will be similar to its past annual parades but with a touch of funk this year.
These Mardi Gras lovers mean it when they say music and each other is all they need to make a parade route a party. Going outside to a nighttime fest full of gold, purple and green streaks is every New Orleans native's dream.
Folks have even praised and highly recommended attending one of their events since the Krewe of Oak is extremely popular in the city and throws the best festivals and Mardi Balls one could ask for, so don't miss out!
