The Krewe
of Muses has announced that NBA Executive Gold Medal Olympian WNBA
Champion, All-Star NCAA Champion, All-American Activist, and Philanthropist
Swin Cash will be their 2022 Honorary Muse.
Leading the Carnival organization's parade, Cash will
be riding in the Krewe of Muses iconic 17-foot-tall shoe float. Cash, who is
the Vice President for Basketball Operations and Team Development for the New
Orleans Pelicans, is a three-time WNBA champion, four-time WNBA All-Star, and
a two-time WNBA All-Star Game MVP. She also won two Olympic gold medals with
the U.S. Women's National Team and was named one of the WNBA's Top 20 Best and
Most Influential players.
Off the court, Cash has covered sports and culture for
various media outlets and is also the founder of Swin Cash Enterprises LLC,
Cash Building Blocks, which is an urban development company that refurbishes
and offers affordable homes for low-income families, and the Cash for Kids
Foundation, whose mission is to motivate, educate and elevate kids through
physical fitness, nutrition, education, cultural trips, and sports camps.
"Swin Cash is most deserving of leading the Muses.
Balancing extraordinary leadership with activist passions, she embodies the
attributes and spirit of the nine muses," Krewe of Muses Captain Staci
Rosenberg said in a press release.
