Busy Day at the Fair Grounds

With closing acts like Stevie Nicks and Nas on the lineup, it was easy to understand why so many patrons were attending Saturday's Jazz Fest. With wait times reaching longer than 45 minutes, it was just enough time to question your life choices, make a few new friends, and fully commit to the fact that, yes, you really wanted to be at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. But once inside, it all made sense.

Of course, the biggest draws were Stevie Nicks, who absolutely mesmerized the audience with a voice and sound that's as powerful as ever. Then Nas, bringing a whole different energy that had the crowd locked in from start to finish. But you also had several other amazing acts such as The Revivalists, Jelly Joseph, John Boutté, Tyler Childers, and so many more. That's the beauty of Jazz Fest, legends, icons, and local stars all shine in their own way.

As always, the lines for the most popular food and drinks were quite long, but somehow, it just added to the charm. It gave everyone a chance to slow down and enjoy themselves, and really take in the moment. It also made it easy to try something new that you may not have had before.

With a small shower at the end to cool the crowds down, it certainly did not stop the show. People still enjoyed it, especially considering that the rain held off for the majority of the fest.

By the end of the day, it was everything Jazz Fest should be: amazing music, incredible people, a little sunburn, and memories that make you want to do it all over again tomorrow. With that said, see you there.
