Impractical Magic Pop-Up in NOLA
Starting on October 1, The Eliza Jane Hotel has a witchy escape brewed in its hidden courtyard, and it lands right on time for the release of Practical Magic 2.

The Impractical Magic Experience
Tucked off Magazine Street, the pop-up trades the hotel's usual Southern charm for a spellbinding outdoor apothecary. Low candlelight, black iron lanterns, and amber dried bottles with dried verbena. Botanicals sit atop weathered silver trays alongside stacks of aged books, channeling the Owens sisters without tipping into full haunted house territory. While lush moss arrangements, feathers, and dried florals soften the exposed brick, guests can settle into sculptural stone seating beneath the glow of flickering glass taper candles.
The kitchen savors the theme with bites and decadent finishes. Hexed Chicken, which are crispy bites glazed in a smoked chili maple. Spellbound Dates, which come wrapped in bacon layered with whipped goat cheese, hot honey, pistachio, and thyme. The Greenhouse is a delicious bite of yellowfin tuna tartare, green apple, tarragon, celery leaf, and a delicate potato-herb tuile. For the sweet lovers, mini cheesecake bites arrive finished with dark berry gastrique, chocolate crumble, and fresh berries or the alternative of cinnamon powdered fried bread pudding bites.
The cocktail menu leans hard into the theme. Rosemary's Baby, which combines bourbon with burnt orange syrup, bitters, and burnt rosemary. The Full Moon Martini, which comes with a spherical ice cube to resemble the full moon and gets its dramatic jet-black hue from activated charcoal, paired with gin, blanc vermouth, maraschino liqueur, and orange bitters. Less dramatic but equally delicious cocktails included on the menu are their Midnight Margarita, Apple of My Eye, BellaDonna Sour, and Love Potion no. 315, a playful nod to the hotel's 315 Magazine St. address.
