Today, New Orleans visual artist Jay McKay will launch his quarterly "Hues Lounge with Jay McKay" artist series at the Peacock Room at Kimpton Hotel Fontenot. The Peacock Room is located on 501 Tchoupitoulas Street facing Poydras Street. The series will honor and promote local artists, drawing attention to their wonderful creations while also inviting the public in to experience great sights, sounds, and flavors.
The debut event in the series will exhibit Jay's artwork, while subsequent evenings will highlight the work of a new artist chosen by Jay. In addition to Jay's work on exhibit and for sale, the artist will be there to meet and mingle with visitors. DJ Ghazi will play music to establish the mood inside Peacock Room, a visually engaging environment with a distinct ambiance. For art enthusiasts, a menu of evocative drinks and shared appetizers will be served, with dinner service until 9 p.m. and bar service until 10 p.m.
"New Orleans is home to some of the most unique and talented Artists in the world," says Jay McKay. "I am extremely happy to be a part of this series! We are going to have a good time!"
The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are advised for those seeking to sit and eat while attending the event. Otherwise, space will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep tuned for the next round of the series, which will take place this summer.
