Galatoire's restaurant and its partnering 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Galatoire Foundation is proud to announce their 16th annual Christmas auction. This annual event serves to raise money for local nonprofits in the New Orleans area so that they may be able to achieve their organization's respective mission. Past recipients of the annual Christmas auction have included incredible nonprofits such as Covenant House, Dress for Success, Audubon Nature Institute, The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation, and many more.
This year's auction will benefit the Louisiana Museum Foundation, an organization that works to preserve and promote Louisiana's unique culture through collections, exhibitions, and educational programs, the Shepherding Hope Foundation, which aims to provide in-depth, year-round education to low-income children and families, and the Galatoire Foundation. The auction will take place on Tuesday, December 6 at Galatoire's restaurant on 209 Bourbon St.
A Tremendous Success for a Great Cause
Galatoire's annual Christmas auction has been a raging success since its inception in 2006. In the event's almost two decades of operation, they have been able to raise over $3 million in support of local nonprofits and the important work that they do. Last year alone, the event raised $404, 700, a record-breaking amount for Galatoire's. The auction is representative of the Galatoire Foundation's mission of giving back to the city of New Orleans and the people that have loved and supported Galatoire's for generations.
"We are very fortunate that, for 16 years now, we have been able to help organizations in our community advance their missions and make our city a better place because of the support and generosity of our loyal patrons," said Galatoire Foundation president Melvin Rodrigue.
