The popular Bourbon Street restaurant, Galatoire's, alongside the Galatoire Foundation has announced that their annual Mardi Gras table auction will take place on Monday, January 30. The auction benefits local non-profits, specifically the Louisiana Museum Foundation on behalf of the New Orleans Jazz Museum and the Shepherding Hope Foundation, which have been chosen as the recipients this year. Throughout the 17 years that the auction has been held, the Galatoire Foundation has raised over $3 million dollars for New Orleans-based charities.

"The Friday before Mardi Gras is the most sought-after day to partake in Friday lunch at Galatoire's and the generosity of our loyal patrons has allowed us to turn this tradition into an opportunity to give back to deserving organizations across our city for 17 years now," said Galatoire Foundation president, Melvin Rodrigue.

In the past, the auction has benefited charities such as Dress for Success, Liberty's Kitchen, and The Roots of Music, among numerous other organizations. The Foundation's Christmas Table auction- which was held in December- was able to raise an impressive $98,000.

The Galatoire Foundation also works outside of the local New Orleans community and is involved in charitable work all across southern Louisiana. The Foundation functions through its popular restaurant, Galatoire's, Galatoire's "33" Bar & Steak, and Galerie de Galatoire.

The Mardi Gras event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the auction will start at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in purchasing a paddle, you can do so here. You can also purchase auction attendance without a paddle on the same page. Both tickets include drinks and hors d'oeuvres. All ticket sales are final.

Galatoire's Restaurant is located at 209 Bourbon Street.
