Gather your calendars and mark them for yet another fest in the New Orleans area near you, except this one is sports-related to the beloved game of pickleball.
August 10-13 is the first annual NOLA Pickleball Fest supporting the Brees Dream Foundation. The Fest will be held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial
Convention Center, similar to a regular festival-style event but with a pickleball tournament as the main attraction instead.
The tournament will have 24 tournament-quality PickleRoll courts, live music, a celebrity exhibition match featuring Drew Brees, VIP experiences and more.
The two brackets that people can compete in are Open and 40+ years old, so choose what best suits you and put on your favorite sun visor. The featured matches will be played on a center court with a grandstand seating, and Kern Studio Mardi Gras floats for VIP viewing.
The event will allow for three divisions of round-robin play: Women's, men's, and mixed doubles for skill levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0+.

The Brees Dream Foundation has been dedicated to helping improve the quality of life for cancer patients and providing care, education and opportunities for families in need. The foundation has partnered with multiple businesses, including Ochsner Community Health Centers, Second Harvest Food Bank and Louisiana Children Museum.
The pickleball fest is another way for the charity to gain funds for their cause. Allowing for more exposure to the fast-growing sport of Pickleball, which not many may know about in the New Orleans area.
Pickleball is a fun and fast-paced game that is very beginner friendly.
With aspects that combine tennis, badminton and ping pong, it's the best of all three worlds if you have been interested in one but never had the opportunity to try all. Like tennis, pickleball is a game for all ages and is played outside or inside.
This will surely be another big party for the Big Squeezy to show out for.
