July 4th is right around the corner and, in a world where COVID-19 vaccines are more readily available, celebrations for this holiday can happen in a much safer manner than last year. If you're not interested in staying at your own house this 4th of July, why not visit Faubourg Brewing Co.'s Red, White, and Blues Fest?
This festival will be fun for the whole family, bringing the best of 4th of July backyard cookouts to its brew park at 3501 Jourdan Rd. The fest, scheduled for both Saturday, July 3, and Sunday, July 4, will feature yard games, food vendors, blues musicians, and even a 17-foot water slide! Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy Faubourg's latest craft beer creations.
The festivities on both Saturday and Sunday will take place from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., ending before the sun goes down and giving attendees the opportunity to head home to see some fireworks.
Saturday's music line-up will feature Ghalia Volt at 12:30 p.m., Alvin Youngblood Hart's Muscle Theory at 2:30 p.m., and Walter "Wolfman" Washington at 4:30 p.m. Saturday will also feature food from local vendors Fete au Fete, NOLA Crawfish King Seafood and BBQ, and Southerns.
Sunday's music line-up will feature Burgin, Zucchero, Broussard at 12:30 p.m., the Jonathan Long Trio at 2:30 p.m., and Little Freddie King at 4:30 p.m. Try something from local food vendors Fete au Fete, Central City BBQ, and Dat Dog while you enjoy the musical guests.
If you're not satisfied just eating, drinking, and listening to music, Red, White, and Blues Fest will also feature face painting, cornhole, bocce ball, volleyball, spikeball, ladder toss, giant beer pong, jenga, yardzee, disc golf, yard dominoes, checkers, tic tac toe, spindle, and other games. There will also be cotton candy, popcorn, and popsicles to satisfy that summer concession stand or fair food feeling.
