Local Impact

The marathon will have a measurable impact on New Orleans tourism, with almost 6,000 women having already signed up for the race. 99% of these runners are from out of town, with most participants from Georgia, Texas, Florida, and California. This will bring many new faces to the city and boost hotel, restaurant, and overall business revenue. The race is strategically placed soon after Mardi Gras.

A New Kind of Running

The Every Woman's Marathon was built to cater to women's unique fitness goals. The organizers wanted to reimagine a traditional marathon and create a more specialized experience. There will be on-course amenities and expert nutrition guides provided by Team Milk. This race has the exciting opportunity for runners to qualify for the Boston Marathon! Almost half of the women registered are first-time marathon runners, showing the race's accessibility and appeal to runners of all levels

The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation

Every Woman's Marathon will partner with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. The foundation is working to increase sports tourism and to cultivate a nationally recognized sports culture in the city. Jay Cicero, president and CEO of the organization, said in a press release, "Events like this reinforce New Orleans' ability to successfully host large-scale endurance events. Every Woman's Marathon not only drives economic impact, but adds long-term value for the city and the runners who travel here."
