The Deutsches Haus New Orleans Announces Upcoming Oktoberfest 2025

Oktoberfest at the Deutsches Haus

The Deutsches Haus in New Orleans will welcome back its annual Oktoberfest starting on October 10.

Oktoberfest brings German tradition to New Orleans with food, music, and events for three separate weekends in October. The annual event is put on be the Deutsches Haus, which is a public charity organization that works to celebrate and foster German culture in New Orleans.

Oktoberfest will be held Fridays from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on October 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25. Admission is just $10, while children 12 and under are free.

Oktoberfest will have over 20 imported German beers, 10 foreign wines, and over 20 different flavored schnapps. Non-alcoholic options and Coke products will be available, as well.

There will be many food options to choose from such as schnitzel, bratwurst, Bavarian style pretzels, apple strudel, and more!

The New Orleans Track Club will host their Oktoberfest Run & Walk 6K through the Fairgrounds Race Track and into the fest on Saturday, October 11. The Oktoberfest Run & Walk is $40 and gives you two free entries to inside the Deutsches Haus' Oktoberfest.

Daily live music will feature some traditional German folk bands such as The BRATS, Rockys Holy Schnitzel Polka Band, and Bier Musikanten. Celebrate Oktoberfest properly with German style oompa music and the Oktoberfest dancing chicken, which is a fun time for kids and polka lovers alike.

The famous beer stein holding contest, called "Masskrugstemmen" and which will put your strength to the test and see if you can last the longest, will be happening daily throughout the festival.

In addition to the Deutsches Haus' souvenir shop, the festival will have a vendors market set up selling t-shirts, accessories, flower headbands, authentic German made beer steins, and more!

Parking

The Deutsches Haus has parking for $25 and is first come, first served. Cabrini High School is also offering parking for $20 a day. Enjoy a seven minute walk down Bayou St. John to Oktoberfest or use their complimentary shuttle!
