Award-winning author and former professional basketball player Dan Grunfeld is bringing his compelling family story to the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience, sharing a remarkable journey of survival, sports, and generational resilience.

Taking place on March 26 at 6 p.m., join Dan Grunfeld as he discusses his acclaimed book By the Grace of the Game, chronicling the extraordinary path of his father, Ernie Grunfeld, as well as his journey to becoming a University of Tennessee basketball legend and the only professional athlete in major American sports whose parents survived the Holocaust.

Meet the Author

Dan Grunfeld brings a unique perspective as both an accomplished athlete and storyteller. A Stanford University graduate and Academic All-American, he played professional basketball for eight years across Europe and Israel. His writing has appeared in prestigious publications including Sports Illustrated and The Jerusalem Post. Currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family, Grunfeld combines his MBA expertise from Stanford with his work in venture capital while continuing to share his family's inspiring story.
