Cafe Adelaide and the Swizzle Stick Bar located inside the stately Loews Hotel on Poydras Street has a few new flavors that represent the culture of New Orleans in a new and tantalizing way. Several Loews Hotels across the country are participating in the Flavor By Loews program in which dishes are crafted from local food makers in order for hotel guests and visitors to get a taste of true local cuisine.
Chef Meg Bickford's outstanding menu has been made even more enticing with the addition of her expertly-crafted Flavors By Loews Hotels items. She uses stone-milled, freshly-baked Bellegarde Bakery bread in her toast and whipped Pontchatoula strawberry jam with marscapone dish that people searching for something sweet and savory will enjoy. The Louisiana Shrimp and Grits is made with locally-sourced Gulf shrimp and Bayou Cora stone-ground grits that perfectly complement the cherry tomatoes and Swiss chard. It's a beautifully-colored dish!
The local-centric meal was rounded out with an amazing fruity dessert with local berries paired with Piccola Gelateria key lime gelato and pieces of heavenly pound cake. The Swizzle Stick Bar also produced two cocktails using Rougaroux Rum: The Adelaide Swizzle and the new Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley.
