Built to Spill is an American indie rock band formed by Doug Martsch (lead vocals, lead, and rhythm guitars) in 1992. Through the years Martsch has composed nine albums and five EP's as well as a live album. His catalogue has spawned twenty-three singles. The beauty of having so much material is there is no shortage of creative outputs when it comes to making setlists. If you saw five shows in a row, odds would be pretty slim of hearing the same song twist and next to zero of any of them being identical. The show at the Joy Theater was another one of those cases, that was not like any of the show before. The set covered seven albums and only had two songs from last year's When the Wind Forgets Your Name. Martsch's touring band is in constant evolution and now includes Melanie Radford on bass and Teresa Esguerra on drums. They both joined the band in 2019. You can see more photos here.
