LEGOs are classic toys that gives kids the ability to be creative and express themselves with little plastic blocks. On August 14 and 15, the Pontchartrain Civic and Convention Center on 4545 Williams Blvd. in Kenner will be hosting the BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention. 2021 will mark the third time the convention will be held in the Greater New Orleans Area after two sold-out events in 2019 and 2020. The convention will be offering new attractions and creations for LEGO fans, including live LEGO builds, meeting professional LEGO artists, and seeing magnificent LEGO creations. Some LEGO artists from around the country will at the event and have their work displayed in the convention, including Jonathan Lopes, Rocco Buttliere, Lia Chan, and Paul Hetherington. Other attractions at BrickUniverse will include LEGO city creations, merchants selling LEGO products, and over 50 world landmarks, as well as superheroes, villains, and NASA spaceships, all built with LEGOs.
Tickets are available for $15 and be purchased online at brickuniverse.com/neworleans. Tickets are expected to sell fast, so plan your trip to BrickUniverse Convention early. Due to COVID regulations, there will be some changes to the convention this year. There will be three different sessions each day to control crowds, as well as ample room in between displays and presentations to allow for proper social distancing.
