Bring Peanut Home
Come to the Rabbit Hole on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard on Friday, March 15 for a brass band
benefit in support of Thaddeaus "Peanut" Ramsey's legal fees. Tickets are just
$20 and the doors will open at 7 p.m.
Ramsey has been an involved member of the New Orleans community
and culture for years. He has been a spy boy in the Black Feather Black Masking
Indian tribe and a big chief in Young Black Feather. He was also key in founding
the iconic Big 6 Brass Band.
Ramsey was detained in Bermuda on April 21, 2023 and has
been held there ever since. While heading to his return flight to New Orleans, he was arrested
under a suspicion of money laundering charge and his passport was confiscated. His
court date has been continuously pushed leaving him stuck abroad in legal
uncertainty. Bermuda's best criminal lawyer has been secured for his case and
the money raised in the brass benefit will support his legal fund as well as his
hopefully imminent flight home.
The night will include two stages with incredible performances
by well-loved artists including Stooges, King of Brass, New Breed, Big 6, Da
Truth, Sporty's, and TBC. Come enjoy this night of local talent in support of a
good cause to bring a community member back home.
