On Thursday November 5, the Bevolo Gas and Electric Lights showroom and museum opened its doors for a cocktail reception. Pimm’s Cups and other libations were served alongside raw oysters, hors d’oeuvres from neighboring restaurant Green Goddess, and sweets from Sucré. Guests mingled among the beautiful hand-crafted copper gas lights, or watched as one of these lights was being made on-site by a live coppersmith. Invitees also stopped to check out the museum exhibit, entitled "The Lights of the Crescent City - A Bevolo History." Bevolo is a family business that has been making these iconic copper lights—the original French Quarter Lantern-- since 1945, and has passed down their artistic manufacturing techniques through three generations.
