The New Orleans Contemporary Art
Center is excited to announce that the White Linen After Dark after party will
be held on Saturday, August 7 from 9 p.m. to midnight, featuring music from DJ
RQ Away! The CAC is a multidisciplinary arts center that has been committed to
the presentation and production of the art of our time. The CAC is a cultural
leader in educating children and adults through local, regional, national, and
international artwork. Museum admission is free on Sundays for Louisiana
residents.
White Linen Night features
exhibitions at 20 different galleries located on the 300-600 blocks of Julia
Street in the historic warehouse district. Come explore specially curated
exhibitions featuring work by both local and internationally renowned artists. To

While moving between galleries,
enjoy different drink specials and fun food trucks. The event kicks off with
the special gallery opening of "Behind Every Beautiful Thing: Encountering
Bodies, Wrestling the Human Condition," the CAC's open call exhibition that
features work from 36 multimedia artists from the Gulf South. This exhibition
offers a deeply personal portrayal of artists' experiences with health and
illness, and the impact it has on life, the physical body, and the psyche for
both the individual and their community. Additionally, exhibition "Gris Gris
Lab: An Afrofuturist Apothecary," an arts healing incubator located in the
CAC's Oval Gallery.
The after party is sold-out, but walk up admissions will be considered at the door after 9 p.m., depending on capacity. Masks, as well as a proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours before hand, are required, and the CAC will adhere to the health and safety guidelines of the City of New Orleans and State of Louisiana.
