The Sixth Annual Sports Power Brunch
The sixth annual Sports Power Brunch is coming to New Orleans on February 5, 2025 to honor the prominent women impacting the sports industry.
The highly anticipated sports event will be filled with inspirational conversations and empowering networking opportunities with leaders in today's sports, entertainment, and business industries. The event will be held in the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans during the big Super Bowl game week, celebrating the extraordinary contributions these women have made to the sports industry.
2025 Sports Power Brunch Honorees
This year's incredible lineup of distinguished women in sports includes:
The Impact award presented by ESPN Films will go to Swin Cash, Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and senior vice president of Basketball Operations & Team Development of the New Orleans Pelicans, National Civil Rights Museum Freedom Awardee, three-time WNBA champion, and two-time Olympic Gold medalist.
The Power of Spirit Award presented by Dove will go to Joy Taylor, FOX Sports on-air personality, cohost of SPEAK on FS1, host of lifestyle digital show, TwoPersonal, and founder of the Joy Taylor Foundation.
The Game Changer Award presented by Prime Video will go to Ali Krieger, National Women's Soccer League champion, two-time World Cup champion & olympian.
The Leadership Award presented by Porsche will go to Alicia Tillman, chief marketing officer at Delta Air Lines.
The Visionary Award presented by Microsoft will go to Dawn Aponte, chief football administrative officer at the National Football League.
The Spotlight Award presented by the National Football League will go to Dr. KiKi Baker Barnes, commissioner of the HBCU Athletic Conference.
Taylor Rooks, host and executive producer, Taylor Rooks X, bleacher reporter, TNT Sports feature reporter, and Amazon's Thursday Night Football feature reporter, will return for her third consecutive year hosting the event.
History of the Sports Power Brunch
Founded in 2019 by veteran sports communications and marketing entrepreneur LaTonya Story, partial proceeds from the brunch will benefit the Sterling Legacy Fund, in honor of her son who passed away from cancer in 2019. In previous years, partial proceeds have been donated to The Power of Girls, Winning Edge Leadership Academy, American Cancer Society, and more.
The event has become a staple event of Super Bowl week and has been featured on CNN, Boardroom, ESSENCE and the Associated Press. The event has been hosted in the same city as the Super Bowl for the past five years, which brings it to New Orleans this year.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 11 a.m. on February 5, 2025 at the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans.
