Harry Connick Jr.'s Krewe of Orpheus held their 30th annual Orpheuscapade last night and it was a spectacular affair. With three decades under their belt, this year's theme was "Bringing it Back to Our 90s Roots!" commemorating their founding year of 1993.
Celebrating with the boy bands of the 90s, Orpheus' 2023 Monarchs were Darren Criss from the hit television show Glee and Joey Fatone from NSYNC.
Staying true to tradition the Orpheus parade rolled through The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center as patrons enjoyed the abundance of throws from light up beads to signature cups. With almost 40 floats, guests were amused by the trademark floral floats to the iconic Smoky Mary--the largest tandem float of Mardi Gras.
The night was a hit, starting with ball favorites, The Party Crashers who rocked the room playing our favorite top forty covers. After the parade rolled through, the show continued with entertainment from 98 Degrees' Jeff Timmons, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, Otown's Erik Michael Estrada, All-4-One's Jamie Jones and Ryan Cabrera along with The Mixed Nuts with a fantastic tribute to Tina Turner.
While Harry Connick Jr was missing in action due to filming a show in New Zealand, the bands and the show was still a spectacular affair. The party was a night to remember and fortunately for all of us, it will be back next year and every year to come.
