Appreciating Local Artists and Culture Bearers
The arts are a vital part of any community. Artists keep the innovative, creative, and spirited parts of their area alive. From painters and sculptors to writers and filmmakers, artists capture culture, history, and emotion in their works. Keeping the arts thriving is, therefore, a cause worth pursuing.
TerraBella Village is doing just that by hosting its very first "Canvas & Chords" Art Stroll on September 20 to celebrate its local artists! TerraBella Village is a neighborhood in Covington where proximity and community are at the heart of its development. Designed so that the homes are within walking distance of shops and businesses, TerraBella is close-knit and neighborly as a result.
What to Expect
Inspired by White Linen Night in New Orleans, Canvas & Chords will feature arts and crafts vendors, live music by Jake Gunter and 8 Track Acoustic, a variety of food and drink stands, and open houses at storefronts on Terra Bella Boulevard. The goal of this event is to honor the arts in TerraBella and the Northshore as a whole. Part of the proceeds from Canvas & Chords will benefit the St. Tammany Art Association.
Unlike White Linen Night, however, Canvas & Chords invites guests to wear their brightest colors to stroll along TerraBella Boulevard. So, come out to TerraBella and take a leisurely stroll while perusing all the lovely creations your local artists have dreamed up.
Not much can beat listening to some live music while sipping on a glass of wine or sampling delicious food and looking at an assortment of unique art. Who knows? Maybe you'll find something that speaks to you and is just the thing you were looking for all along.
Canvas & Chords will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m at TerraBella Village (111 Terra Bella Blvd., Covington, LA 70433). Entry is free, and tickets are not required.
