Rolling Up in the Big Easy
On February 28, the 3rd Hour of TODAY is en route for New Orleans to celebrate the Mardi Gras season with the first-of-its-kind "Taste of New Orleans" food reception event.
Located in the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute on 725 Howard Ave., TODAY anchors will be chatting with New Orleans' premier chefs Edgar "Dook" Chase IV, Zoe Chase, Alon Shaya and Toya Boudy. These chefs have made their mark in the culinary world and are ready to bring their passion and love for preparing food down in the heart of New Orleans.

Edgar "Dook" Chase IV is the proprietor of Leah's Kitchen and Dook's Burgers and the executive chef of his family's Dooky Chase's Restaurant. Zoe Chase is the newest chef at Dooky Chase's Restaurant and has added her own flair to the restaurant's menu with vegan options and other specialities.Alon Shaya is an Israeli-American celebrity chef, restaurant owner of Saba, which specializes in contemporary Israeli cuisine. He is also the author of several cookbooks and owner of Pomegranate Hospitality.
Last, but certainly not least, Toya Boudy is a famous culinary influencer with a YouTube channel, alongside several books and podcasts, talking about her work in the industry. Famous for her unique twists on New Orleans dishes, she has changed the scene of New Orleans cuisine and now works as an ambassador for Louisiana to elevate diversity in the hospitality, tourism, and culinary industry.
Event Details
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at NOCHI, located at 725 Howard Ave., special guests from New Orleans will sit down with TODAY anchors to share the stories of their life in the Big Easy, speaking on how they make their favorite dishes, as well as answering questions about their culinary style from both the anchors and the audience.The daily live broadcast from NBC is extending an invitation to all New Orleans locals to register and see the event live in person, have the opportunity to ask questions, and get treated to a delicious, three-course meal alongside a cocktail reception prepared by those same premier chefs.
