Son of a Saint's Hot Dog Competition

Saturday, July 23, New Orleans' Son of a Saint organization will host a celebration of National Hot Dog Day at Dat Dog on Magazine Street in the Garden District. The event will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Event

The celebration will take place in the form of a "Top Chef" style competition, where chosen contestants will attempt to craft and create the tastiest dog, to be voted on by a panel of esteemed guest judges and hot dog experts. The winner will get their handmade masterpiece added to the Dat Dog menu as the "Son of a Saint 'Dog." Once available for purchase, a portion of all proceeds from this sensational menu item will be donated back into the Son of a Saint mentorship program.

Son of a Saint

A staple of the New Orleans community, Son of a Saint is a beloved non-profit organization that works tirelessly to ensure strong upbringings and brighter futures for boys in the city who are growing up in fatherless households. Through mentorship, college prep, recreational engagement, and tuition assistance, Son of a Saint is able to create an immeasurable impact on the lives it touches. Fundraisers and events like this National Hot Dog Day celebration help to ensure that the organization can continue its vital work in bettering New Orleans and uplifting its youth.

How to Get Involved
