Wanna enjoy some R&B with a side of classical? Grammy nominated local group Tank and the Bangas will perform with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at the Orpheum Theater on January 14 at 7:30 p.m. Forming in New Orleans in 2011, Tank and the Bangas has a sound that incorporates funk, hip hop, rock, and spoken word. Celebrate and reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Just Us event. Taking place at the Contemporary Arts Center on January 17 from noon to 5 p.m., this annual event will feature thought-provoking discussions about the civil rights icon. Don't miss out on see rock royalty at Elton John: Farewell Yellow Brick Road. That'll be at the Smoothie King Center on January 19.
