A Musical Legacy Continues
The Trombone Shorty Foundation announced its signature event, Shorty Fest, presented by Acura, is returning to the historic Tipitina's on April 28, 2025.
This annual celebration bridges Jazz Fest weekends with an extraordinary showcase of musical talent, featuring headliner Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue alongside the Black Opry Revue and rising stars from the Trombone Shorty Academy.
In an exciting addition to this year's lineup, a special New Jersey takeover will feature Dogs In A Pile performing with special guests Robert Randolph and Jake Clemons of the E Street Band. The evening will also honor 2025 Walk of Fame inductee Shannon Powell during the prestigious Tipitina's Induction Ceremony.
The festival extends beyond Tipitina's walls with a free cultural block party on Napoleon Avenue, featuring brass bands, Mardi Gras Indians, and a thrilling "Battle of the Bands" between local high school marching bands. Families can enjoy food trucks, a kids' area, and a silent auction starting at 5 p.m.
