Elmo to Visit NOLA
On October 6, the Mahalia Jackson Theater will host Sesame Street Live! Say Hello. Beginning at 2 p.m., the show will include Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby.
A fun and immersive experience, there will be singing, dancing, and games such as hide and seek for the whole family to partake in. Enjoy this interactive performance and prepare to meet plenty of new friends—including Elmo's puppy, Tango.
Touring the U.S. and Canada, Sesame Workshops seeks to not only entertain, but educate and inspire joy and kindness in communities, families, and generations to come. The 50 year-old global nonprofit has been successful in their mission of helping children to grow and learn, and is excited to bring the cheer of Elmo and his friends to New Orleans. Executive Vice President of Sesame Workshop Whit Higgins and Stephen Shaw, founder of Round Room Live, voiced their enthusiasm about the collaboration, hoping to further their outreach and create long-lasting memories.
Tickets range in prices from $29 - $120, depending on seating, as outlined here. The Mahalia Jackson welcomes audience members of all ages to enjoy the show and is an accessible theater that includes: a step-free entrance, a wide variety of seating, including for those with service animals, and listening devices if necessary. Food and drink will also be sold. The show is 1 hour and 20 minutes, and includes a 20 minute intermission. The theater also kindly asks for viewers to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the show, as arriving late can result in being held out or reseated.
