Rocky Horror in NOLA
Prepare to do the "Time Warp" again at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for The Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th anniversary spectacular tour on October 29.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show follows stranded couple Brad and Janet as they encounter a colorful cast of characters, from the delightfully evil Dr. Frank-N-Furter to the titular Rocky. Released in 1975, the film quickly became a cult classic.
The Tour
The 50th anniversary spectacular tour will put a unique twist on the beloved film. In addition to streaming the original unedited movie, the production will feature live performances from local actors called The Well-Hung Speakers. Known as a shadow cast, the actors will mime scenes from the film and interact with audience members.

The tour also includes a costume contest, where fans can don their best fishnet stockings and fingerless gloves. Just remember to wear your most comfortable pair of knee-high boots to dance to "Sweet Transvestite" and "Science Fiction/Double Feature."
This year's production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show features notable special guest Nell Campbell, who originated the role of Columbia in the film. Fans can reminisce on their favorite movie moments with Campbell at a V.I.P. Meet & Greet.
"I never would have thought all these years later we'd be touring our little 'ol film. I'm so thrilled to get back on the road and to meet several generations of fans. Looking forward to a lot of fun just like it always was!" Campbell said in a press release.
