Purity Ring--Explore The Joy

To say Purity Ring have come a long way from their first shows in New Orleans at the Always Lounge and the Maison would be a massive understatement. Their small footprint of show has grown into a massive visual production and the Joy Theater was built for such an event.

The duo of Corin Roddick and Megan James make up the Canadian electropop group and have been taking post-Covid touring with great strides and extreme caution. They love touring and bringing their amazing visions to the world to see. Megan and company respectfully request their audience to mask up, so they can continue to tour safely. The front rows were a sea of masks and not a blank face was to be found. Megan was beyond grateful for the crowds help and participation.

Purity Ring is touring on this year's Graves EP, of which two songs made their way to the set as well as two amazing covers. The covers weren't a straight up copy note for note, but rather nice reinterpretation of the source material. "Better off Alone" oddly enough didn't have the pep associated with the smash club hit and the Deftone's "Knife Prty" sounded even more brooding. The evening concluded with crowd favorite "Begin Again" from another eternity. You can see more pictures here.
