Every now and again, I throw a Hail Mary and request a show to shoot based purely on the advertisement for the show, not knowing anything at all about the band or their music. Sometimes it's a dud, but others I'm pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Friday's night Polyphia show was my latest experiment. Polyphia is a four-piece band from Plano, Texas whose musical stylings are instrumental math melodic metal. You can hear elements of hip-hop and surf as well. The band's North America Tour 2022 comes with songs off their forthcoming album Remember That You Will Die of which several songs showed up in their set. The band's energy was amazing, and their light show highlighted the complexities and technical elements of their music. You can see more pictures here.
