Pollack Glass Studio & Gallery, the first privately-owned public access lampworking studio and gallery, has its grand opening on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 5:00pm.
Opening celebrations kick off on Friday, September 21st at 10:00am with part one of a 3-part beginner’s intensive workshop, which takes place over the course of the weekend. On Saturday, September 22nd, festivities continue with giveaways & discounts and conclude with a gallery and open studio soiree from 5:00pm - 9:00pm, complete with live music, food, drinks, and local artists! Residents and visitors to the city are welcome to engage with the studio and the artists demonstrating their craft, as well as browse or purchase a unique item from the gallery.
Pollack Glass Studio & Gallery is the newest addition to the historic Magazine Street Corridor. Modern and fully-equipped, the 1,000 square foot studio houses up to 15 lampworking benches complete with a cold-working area and all other necessary amenities. The eye-pleasing minimalist gallery exhibits mid-career and established glass artists, representing the widest variety of local and national glass artists creating work in lampworking, hot glass, mosaics, fused and slumped glass, enameling, and cast glass. The brainchild of Andrew Pollack, its mission is to serve as a community hub for glass artists and educators. Andrew has been teaching and making glass art full time for over 20 years!
