Celebrating Art in the Garden
The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) is set to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden with a free outdoor festival on September 28, offering a day filled with art, music, and community engagement.
"The Besthoff Sculpture Garden is a remarkable gift to the city of New Orleans, with world-class works from the 19th century to the present day in a unique landscape, open and accessible to all," Montine McDaniel Freeman Director of NOMA Susan M. Taylor said in a press release. "We invite everyone to join us in celebrating 20 years of this place of respite, beauty, and discovery for visitors."
To mark this milestone, NOMA has curated an exciting lineup of events and experiences for the festival.
Date: Saturday, September 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: NOMA's Besthoff Sculpture Garden, 1 Collins C. Diboll Circle, New Orleans, LA 70124

- Guided tours of the garden
- Live music and performances throughout the day
- Art-making activities inspired by the garden
- Food and drink from local vendors
- Wellness and movement class from Move Ya Brass
- Art costume contests with prizes

Art Costume Contest: Hosted by artist Simone Immanuel, the contest will feature judging by local artists and designers. Winners will receive a package including two tickets to the Visionaries Garden Party on Friday, November 8, a dual membership, and exclusive museum merchandise.
Community Partners: The event features collaboration with numerous local organizations, including Crescent City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Broadmoor Improvement Association, Congo Square Preservation Society, and many others.
