You Can't Spell Reveal Without Revel
Most music festivals release their lineups online, posting flyers
to Instagram or Facebook, hoping their audience will find them. NOLA Funk Fest,
forever dedicated to groove and good times, is instead inviting people in and
giving us a taste of what's to come.
The NOLA Funk Fest is gearing up for its October 16-18 festivities
with a lineup reveal show on March 28 at Tipitina's. The show is packed with performers
and may be a hint at who to expect later this year, though there's only one way
to know for sure.

The program highlights performances such as the New Orleans legend Irma Thomas and the Lost Bayou
Ramblers, a Grammy Award-winning Cajun band from Lafayette. Attendees of last year's festival will remember The New Orleans Suspects, composed of NOLA's favorite players,
as they take the stage. Other performers such as Ivan Neville, Tony Hall, and Jon
Cleary, who performed at last year's festival, as well, will be there.

Mission & History
NOLA Funk Fest has a mission dedicated to the preservation and professing
of New Orleans' music history. Proceeds for the festival are aimed at the
development of the Louisiana Music & Heritage Experience. Choosing
Tipitina's as their lineup reveal venue makes an obvious choice for this reason.
Tipitina's is a historical landmark for New Orleans musical heritage,
named after a song by Professor Longhair, who moved the musical needle in the
Crescent City and influenced acts such as the Meters, the Neville Brothers, Allan Toussaint,
and others.
