X-Games Championship in New Orleans
New Orleans is set to be the host of the first Moonpay X-Games League championship, which will be located in the Caesars Superdome.
This event is a part of the X-Games sports festival, a three-day event combining extreme-sporting athleticism, entertainment, and concession.
Event Details
The event will take place this summer from July 24 to 26. There will be a total of 18 skate, BMX, and Moto X competitions, where over 100 athletes will showcase their skills.
The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation has partnered with X-Games to bring a high-quality competitive experience to extreme sports lovers and the participating athletes. Hosts of note include Kevin Peraza, an eight-time X-Games gold medalist and BMX legend, and Reese Nelson, two-time X-Games medalist and Vert Skateboard prodigy.
What is New This Year?
What makes the Summer 2026 X-Games especially noteworthy is the launching of the Moonpay X-Games League. This is a specialized competition, new in 2026, for athletes to engage in higher-stake competition.
The championship occurs at the end of both the winter and summer seasons, with a large sum of money for the team with the greatest number of points earned. The schedule for the year includes two season drafts, four summer clubs, four winter clubs, 10 athletes per club, and one internationally-reigning club champion.
Winter competitions include snowboarding and skiing with placement for competitors in the events of Superpipe, Big Air, Slopestyle, and Knuckle Huck. Winter competitions include skating, with the events of Street, Park, and Vert, and BMX with Men's Street, Park, and Men's Dirt.
Winter 2026 X-Games Recap
Most recently in winter sports, the 2026 champions saw athletes competing in skiing and snowboarding. The the men's champions included Mac Forehand, Alex Hall, Luca Harrington, Finley Melville-Ives, Hiroto Ogiwara, Rene Rinnekangas, Mark McMorris, and Scotty James, in their respective events.
The women's champions included Mathilde Gremaud, Marin Hamill, Kirsty Muir, Zoe Atkin, Cocomo Murase, Jessica Perlmutter, Mia Brookes, and Sara Shimizu, in their respective events.
