What Will be Discussed?

The music scene in the Big Easy is not only for the community to enjoy or for tourists to admire; it's also an economic driver, allowing the city to thrive. Music Swings Votes is a collective of music professionals, musicians, and music supporters working towards advocacy to strengthen the music industry in Louisiana.

The event, put on by the Music and Culture Coalition of New Orleans (MaCCNO) in conjunction with Louisiana Music Partners and the Recording Academy, will see a facilitated discussion allowing candidates Helena Moreno, Royce Duplessis, and Oliver Thomas to talk about the current state of the music economy in New Orleans. The panel will also have an opportunity to speak on its plans for its growth and development.

How to Attend?

The music policy discussion will take place at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center on Wednesday, October 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. It will also be live-streamed via Louisiana Music Partners' social media. Those who wish to attend in person must RSVP. The event is free, and organizers recommend attendees arrive early as seating is limited.
