The Museum

The New Orleans Jazz Museum is a special site of Big Easy culture and preservation, located right on the edge of the city's historic French Quarter. Looking not only at the past, but also into the future, the Jazz Museum aims to continue and foster the legacy of jazz music in a way that can only be done from the place it was born.

With a host of visual exhibitions, educational programs, and immersive performance opportunities, the New Orleans Jazz Museum does a lot to keep the musical spirit of the city alive. Its Annual Improvisations Gala donates all funds directly to the museum and its ongoing efforts to remember, teach, and research the art of jazz in its birthplace.

The Jazz Museum is open at 400 Esplanade Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays through Sundays. For more information on exhibitions and admission, visit the website here.
