A Blowout Sale for Young Readers
The Friends of the New Orleans Public Library are hosting a Children's Big Book Sale on August 15 and 16 at the Norman Mayer Library.
With back-to-school season upon us, stocking up on books doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, the books at the New Orleans Public Library's sale will be priced at only $2 each.

Included in the sale will be all kinds of board books, picture books, chapter books, and YA novels. Book sets will be priced per book.
This book sale is a great time to give your child the gift of reading. Or, maybe, you enjoy a little bit of the young adult genre yourself!
The book sale, which will take place at Norman Mayer Public Library (3001 Gentilly Blvd.), will go from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, August 15 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 16. Cash, card, and Venmo will be the accepted forms of payment.
About the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library
The Friends of the New Orleans Public Library have been active since 1957 in supporting literacy and access to reading in the Greater New Orleans area. When city funding can only stretch so far, the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library step in.
Every year, they donate over 100,000 books to schools, hospitals, prisons, senior homes, and shelters. In addition, they run enrichment programs such as the Summer Reading Program, Adult Programs, and Creative Writing Workshop.

The Friends of the New Orleans Public Library recognize that reading changes lives. With their donations and services, they are empowering readers to see different perspectives and to step into other worlds. One book at a time, the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library are helping the Greater New Orleans Area experience the magic of reading.
