Anarchy, Love, and Inclusivity
Pussy Riot's Nadya Tolokonnikova will be playing at The Rabbit Hole this March 23 at 9 p.m. with Boyfriend joining as a special guest.
Pussy Riot embodies gender fluidity,
love, anti-authoritarianism, matriarchy, laughter, and more, all while creating
incredible music. Boyfriend is a singer, songwriter, and rapper whose new single
"Dance with the Devil" features Pussy Riot.
Tolokonnikova, founder of Pussy Riot, grew up in Russia
and has been releasing unique, boundary pushing music for years. Her upbeat
headbanging hits feature provocative and poignant lyrics with a punk rock
attitude. Tolokonnikova is both a performer and activist and in 2012 was sentenced
to two years in prison for public anti-Putin activism. While in a Siberian
penal colony, she continued her activism and even founded a prison punk band.
She also wrote and published her own book Read and Riot: Pussy Riot's Guide
to Activism. The performance is sure to be a radical, spectacular, and electric
show of both political activism and scream worthy lyrics.
The Rabbit Hole is an intimate New Orleans venue on Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard known for
