A Cosmic Celebration
The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus is excited to host their 14th annual parade in 2025, featuring creative costumes, artistic decorations, and special guest, Emmy-nominated actor Mark Proksch.
The festivities will commence on Saturday, February 1, 2025 with the theme being: "Chewbacchus XIV: The Rise of the Superb Owl," based on the hit comedy TV-show What We Do in the Shadows, a show where vampires mistake a Super Bowl party for a celebration of a mythical owl called the "Superb Owl." This nod to the fact that the Super Bowl is expected to take place in New Orleans, the theme is incredibly fitting, especially since Mark Proksch stars in said show! The parade will run at 7 p.m. from Franklin Avenue and St. Claude Avenue, proceeding down Elysian Fields, and concluding at Decatur and Conti Street.
Led by longtime member and artist Meghan Davis, she has been entrusted with the 2025 title: "Conjurer of Cosmic Creativity, Summoner of the Superb Owl, and Queen of Darkness." Having founded the What We Do in the Shadows sub-krewe, Davis is excited to reign as the Queen of Darkness. Mark Proksch, the parade's special guest, is a hilarious and talented actor and is excited to take on the extensive title of "The Grand Siphon and Master of the Mundane, Intergalactic Yo-Yo Champion, and Parade Comptroller."
Fandom, Artistry, and Comedy
A celebration of all things fandom, Chewbacchus invites fans, friends, and families on February 1, 2025 to enjoy and engage in the krewe's out-of-this-world, humorous, and artistic festivities. The night will end with an after-party at the Fillmore from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m., featuring live music, fun, and much more! Guests are invited to put on their favorite, geekiest costumes, and dance the night away with the Chewbacchus krewe at their the Chewbacchanal party. Tickets will be made available at a later date.
