Who makes the best margarita in New Orleans? We're about to find out! This timeless question will be answered once and for all next week during Where Y'at Magazine's annual Margarita Mix-Off Party. On Thursday, June 6th, five local restaurants/bars will duke it out, competing against each other in order to determine whose signature margarita sits above the rest. The winning team will receive a weekend vacation for two at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi!
The 2019 finals party will take place from 6pm to 8pm at Wrong Iron on the Greenway. This year, the five finalists who will compete for the coveted championship title will be Wrong Iron, Galatoire's 33, Fulton Alley, May Baileys, and Penthouse Club. Each contestant will be expected to create four, full size, flawless margaritas for the judges and roughly 100, two ounce sample size margaritas for the public. To level the playing field, each restaurant/bar will be provided with and asked to use the same Tres Agaves Tequila and Cointreau liquors.
What's the secret to crafting the tastiest margarita? These restaurants think they know-- and you can see for yourself this Thursday, June 6th. Come six o'clock, each contestant will have their own mixing stations set up and ready to go!
