Louisiana SPCA's Carnival 2026

The Louisiana SPCA is bringing back its annual Carnival for an afternoon of live music, local food, family activities, and plenty of four-legged guests.

Now in its fourth year, the Louisiana SPCA Carnival will take place Saturday, October 24, at the organization's New Orleans Campus at 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd. in Algiers. The event's VIP Patron Party will run from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., followed by general admission from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Presented by Hahn Enterprises and HUB International, Carnival is the Louisiana SPCA's largest annual event and raises money to support animals in its care and lifesaving programs throughout the community.

Music, Food, and Four-Legged Fun

This year's Carnival will feature a performance by Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and New Orleans musician George Porter Jr. Debbie with a D will serve as the event's emcee, while circus-themed performances will add to the afternoon's entertainment.

There will also be activities for children and pets. Young animal lovers can experience what it is like to work as a veterinarian through the MetLife Vet for a Day Experience. Families can explore an inflatable obstacle course, arts and crafts, face painting, and other interactive activities.

Dogs are welcome to join the festivities with a Pooch Pass and can visit a designated dog activity area. Cat lovers will have something new to explore this year with the Cat Theater, a cat-lounge-inspired experience where guests can watch feline videos while spending time with adoptable cats.

Food will be available from local vendors, including Southerns and Glizzie's by Poppa. Adults can also stop by the Homebrewer Beer Garden Experience to sample local beers and vote for their favorite brew.

Carnival's silent auction will give attendees the opportunity to bid on items and experiences both in person and online. VIP guests will receive access to the Patron Party before general admission, which includes specialty bites, beverages, and live entertainment.

Supporting the Louisiana SPCA

Founded in 1888, the Louisiana SPCA is the state's oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization. The nonprofit works to promote, protect, and advance the well-being of Louisiana's companion animals and impacts more than 73,000 homeless and companion animals each year.

Its work extends beyond animal adoption and sheltering. The organization provides affordable veterinary care through its Community Clinic, pet training and resources, humane education, foster programs, and Humane Law & Rescue services. The Louisiana SPCA also serves as the official animal shelter and animal control provider for Orleans Parish.

Funds raised through Carnival help the organization continue its animal rescue, care, education, advocacy, and other community programs.
