The Louisiana Children's Museum recently announced their newest
holiday hours for the week of Thanksgiving. Tickets must be purchased in
advance because, in compliance with the city and state's social-distancing
guidelines, the museum is only allowing a certain number of guests in at a time.
Their
special Thanksgiving hours are as follows:
●Saturday, November 21, 9:30 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m.
●Sunday, November 22, 12 p.m.
- 4:30 p.m.
●Monday, November 23 -
Wednesday, November 25, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
●Thursday, November 26, closed
●Friday, November 27 and
Saturday, November 28, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
●Sunday, November 29, 12 p.m.
to 4:30 p.m.
The
museum's gift shop will be open, as will Acorn, the café inside of the museum, which sells pizza (by the
slice and the whole pie), breakfast meals, sandwiches, and more.
Not
only will the Children's Museum prove to be a great activity for your family,
but their new location in City Park (as of 2019) also offers a wide variety of
family activities. Start off your day by enjoying hot and delicious beignets in
City Park's Café du Monde, then walk around and admire the unique and eccentric
statues in the Botanical Gardens, and end your day by going to the Children's
Museum, which offers an entertaining and interactive experience for both
children and adults.
In
the Children's Museum, every adult and child over the age of eight is required
to wear a face mask, and face masks are strongly recommended for children from
the ages of three to seven. Hand sanitizer is offered to guests at the entrance
of the museum and throughout the exhibits. Guests are strongly encouraged to
remain six feet apart from others while in the museum.
Come
to the Children's Museum for a fun and family way to celebrate a holiday that
reminds us to be grateful for family and friends. General admission tickets
cost $14 per person. Member admission is free, and the number of free tickets
for members depends on your membership. Click here to purchase your tickets ahead of
time.
