One-Night-Only Performance in NOLA
The state of Louisiana has its own opera star and she's heading to New Orleans for a one-night show featuring music from her latest album, French Bel Canto Arias, and performances by recent Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition winners.
Held at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for The Performing Arts, this one-night performance is happening this Friday, on the 1st of December at 7:30pm.
Known for her "brightly crystalline and arrestingly powerful" soprano voice, Lisette Oropesa has made waves across the globe and has become an international sensation. Her most recent album was voted Best Recording "Solo Recital" at the International Opera Awards.
Born in New Orleans, Lisette had an early attraction to music. She played the flute for 12 years and studied vocal performance at Louisiana State University. In 2005, Lisette was a grand finalist in the Met Opera National Council auditions. She then entered the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and moved to New York City.
Since, she's sung in over 100 performances in many different roles. Some of the works she has been featured in include Hansel and Gretel, Falstaff and Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata. Lisette can be seen and heard performing in theaters around the world and has become one of the most celebrated opera singers of today.
You do not want to miss this one-of-a-kind performance. Friday night's performance is prepared to be a fantastically memorable show. Backed by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, this show will also include special guests such as mezzo soprano Ashley Dixon, tenor Carlos Enrique Santelli, and baritone Blake Denson.
